A calm, misty morning at Loch Ard in the Trossachs National Park in Scotland
My work is a mixture of both colour and monochrome photographs, plus a selection of creative images of the natural world which express my artistic impression of the subject. I am a big believer that artistically less is more and feel that the minimalist nature of my images transcends photography and moves into the realm of fine art. From time to time we all say "I can't see the wood for the trees", but can we really see? We live in a beautiful land, but few of us rarely actually see and appreciate this beauty. My photography is dedicated to the art within the landscape, for me the stark simplicity of a lone tree in a field of snow is a work of art itself. I bought this image from you at Art in the Pen a few years back. It now sits, framed with art glass, in my bathroom. As I look closely at it, it’s hard to tell if it’s a photograph or a painting. I’ve viewed & collected a lot of landscape photography over many years, and I reflected this morning that it’s possibly the best picture in terms of skill & beauty I’ve ever seen.
Janet Burdon replied:
Thank you so much Andy for your kind words, you have made my day.
